It’s Gourmet Country
The Sun Country Food and Wine Festival promotes a collection of events across the region, highlighting produce that is locally grown and produced. The festival runs in line with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival each year.

The 2018 festival will see the Sun Country on the Murray region come alive with a range of unique events. Twilight tours, taste tantalising picnic hampers, autumn grazers, the region’s best chefs creating degustation spectaculars.
Join in the fun and excitement as you take your tastebuds on a journey across Sun Country on the Murray during the festival.

Pick up your prepacked picnic basket and bike from the Rich Glen Olive Estate farm gate store and find a pretty spot amongst the olive grove, and experience the fresh country air.

Experience a unique sampling of the boutique strawberry jam, dip and strawberry wine. See product demonstrations in the display room and have your photo taken with The Big Strawberry. Take home your very own sample bag of Big Strawberry products.

Spend the afternoon in the gardens of the historic Byramine Homestead sampling the delights from the Brewery and the artisan cheese from Boosey Creek Cheese while enjoying some great live music.
Tour the 175 year old Homestead and enjoy tasting the brewery and cider house.

Cactus Country invites you to join them on a night like no other, a journey you're bound to remember. Enjoy a 3 course meal specially designed by our chef including a Twilight Tapas Tour in the garden, followed by main course and dessert. When night falls see the garden like never before.

Take a 1hr cruise on an authentic, steam engine paddle steamer on the water of Lake Mulwala. Meet the operator of locally owned and operated Lambtastic and sample their gourmet sausages fresh from the grill along with a complimentary beer or wine. Every ticket sold will also receive a coupon for 15% off Lambtastic products.

Ku De Ta' offers a fascinating conceptual mini sideboard featuring Kangaroo, Emu, Barramundi, King Prawn & Lemon Myrtle vegetarian, topped with a fresh locally baked bun and a glass of native berry sangria to get the night stated. Relax under the gums in the spirit of the native theme, listening to the Dideridoo.

Enjoy the flavours of Sun Country on the Murray as you discover the local hot spots to eat and drink in Numurkah. You will be delighted by the range of food made availaible by local eateries for sampling. Use your ticket to collect your passport from the Numurkah Visitor Information Cente and begin the walk along the trail of tasty treats.

This unique experience will be set in the gardens of Katamatite Garlic. Enjoy a series of dishes created with garlic as the flavour base and take the opportunity to chat with our local chef and the organic garlic growers. Allow your hosts to take you along the path from the paddock to the plate.

Soak up the atmosphere of the Barrel Room and speak to winemaker himself, Terry Monichino.
Be seated for a nine course degustation with matching wines and as an exclusive guest you will recieve a sample of wine directly from Monichino's 100 year old wine barrels and enjoy the 1st pressings from their lastest harvest.
